Transparency - the kind politicians use

I have noticed since President Obama has been in office one of the all important buzz words is "transparency". Interesting that this has floated up from the bottom of the previous eight years administration's vocabulary. The blame game continues and it is quite interesting for me to see how the word transparency is so easily tossed out during a speech, interview, or even a farewell message.
When I look at that word I understand if for it's literal meaning. I wonder though about those folks who have it in their drawer of the top ten buzz words. You know about buzz words? Those words that had to be on the resume or used during the interview for a new position. Hated that bullshit. But that is another Blog. I digress. Do these politicians that have apparently fallen in love with the word really know why they are saying it. Are they attempting to separate themselves from the previous administration's reputation? Are they knowingly using the word to get the "blessing" of their constituents? Are they caught up in the buzz word because it is politically correct to say it?
Using that word carries with it a tremendous responsibility. You must then actually be transparent with what you do in office. You must be willing to not only conduct your work in a transparent manner but also willing to be put under the microscope for the all important transparency check.
I really don't think that politicians in general know that the more they play the game of politics the worse they look as politicians. That is so perplexing for me. I guess if you have the mindset of a politician then you have no other perspective to draw from. It's like you know there are trees in the forest but can see them.
So jumping on the politically correct buzz word band wagon really seems silly. Don't you think? Kinda childish, not very leadership like. Do you have to say you are transparent because you think someone will question it? How about just being transparent, for whatever that word means to them, and then you won't have to tell everyone you are transparent. Now I know that is a stretch and highly unlikely with most of those who want to serve our country as an elected official. I am all for those who really think they can make a difference with their country, state, county, city, town, etc. I just know that most of those folks don't last because it takes too much time and energy, too much ass kissing, too much negotiating, too much bullshit to be very unproductive. Talk about waste and abuse of government money. Yikes I may have another Blod here.
It is really simple don't you think, when you really think, hard and serious? Come on....give me any good reason why we can't elect American citizens who want to do good and that can actually do good without all the politicing?
